Capacity Building and Program Assessment/Design
Organizational growth should be approached in an intentional, well-considered way. The pursuit of growth for its own sake does not often translate into success, and can instead undermine an organization’s achievement of its mission. Organizations seeking to grow and accelerate their impact need to realistically assess their assets and the opportunities to develop new resources, as well as determine what additional infrastructure, financial support and human resources will be needed to achieve growth goals and maintain program quality. An examination of possible cost savings is also important in any capacity building analysis.
Mission Velocity brings a creative and experienced perspective to capacity building work. We work with clients to make sure that their programs and operations are well aligned with their funding and other resources. This process typically starts with a needs assessment and a financial review to help to determine capacity building potential and identify areas in need of support to fuel growth. Are you being strategic about which programs to grow? Which ones bring the best balance of achieving your mission and being financially viable?
We also help nonprofits analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of specific programs and initiatives. Mission Velocity gathers information from staff and other stakeholders, reviews similar work by other organizations, and develops a set of findings and recommendations for adjustment and improvement in specific program areas.
